spools and springy pins - not set correctely?

Hi.

One of my Abus training locks is like: 1st pin Standard, 2-4 Spools.

I ran into the situation recently:
I picked pin 1 (always first binder) get false set.
I pick pin 3, little deeper false set
I pick pin 4, lose false set, pins 1-3 are springy

Question: Do I lose the false set due to pin 4 being a spool and not setting the spool correctly but binding it up in the middle?

It can be that 1 and 3 is smaler than the widest part of 4 so 1 and 3 goes back when number 4 is set so its the 4 that unset the other
