research on a brinks combo lock

Postby paces » 16 Aug 2015 22:07

i have been looking to see if any other combo locks work with the hack samy kamkar did to the master lock. i have bought 2 brinks combo locks. cut one open for measurements. the locks look identical. and redoing the math atm. but am having trouble determining the 3rd part where resistance is supposed to be. anyone else look at this? oh samy's work doesn't work on the brinks. hence why i am redoing calculations

Sorry but I'm not seeing any question marks, are you asking a question?

yes and no samy kamkar came out with a exploit to crack the master lock in 8 tries or less. it got me thinking how many other combination locks (brands/models) this may work on. so a bought a brinks brand combo to see. samy has a page that does the math automagically. his formula doesnt work with the brinks. so i am trying to figure out if i can crack the brinks locks the same way he did the master lock. no question there. the question is has anybody else tried this exploit on any other locks other then master lock

hello paces,

Just a heads up but because so many bored high school kids want to get into someone's locker and cause mischief, and these locks are the primary lock on most high school and gym lockers, we dont discuss cracking these in the open on this forum. Even though they arent a "high security" lock, folks depend on them to secure backpacks, laptops, ipads, house keys, and purses, so we feel better not being a conduit for that information. if someone wants to they can go watch youtube video or google the 8 step instructions or find them on reddit or imgur, sorry.

if you want to contact Samy, he's on twitter, and a lot of us follow his work.
