What is a banham? I did a google search and all that came up was some churches, a few random people, and something about banning ham (the meat)

Banham are (extremely expensive) locks which are generally only used throughout London. I gather they are pin tumbler mechanisms and provide a good degree of security.

Since I've never even seen one unfortunately I cant comment on how to bypass them.

... :?
Lockkey, thats a burglary prevention company. When you say "Whats best way to beat them" im assuming your talking about beat them as in bypass personal security.. i.e. break into someplace :x

Thats unacceptable... you won't get much of a response telling you how to "beat them".

There is no longer any any point in you posting here, so don't

i hit the freaking submit button before i was done

Obviously, i can't be exactly sure your some kind of theif, but it's just the way your question was worded "What's the best way to beat them". That doesn't immediately stick in my mind as 'Oh, another wonderful hobbyist who just wants to know about this lock', it makes me think you wanna know the best way to bypass personal home security and break into someplace.

If this is not the case, i apologize for my post, and you may continue to post here :D (as if i even have control over that  )

Banham are very good locks and as mbell says only seen in london. The escutcheon is made from hard plate which says something about how good thet are. The keys are restricted and the owner gets a card which must be shown to get replacements/spares cut. The locks throw a deadbolt across very similar to a bs deadlock but works offf of a cylinder key.
You want to get past them ? call banham

Sorry. My wording was wrong. I did mean banham locks. Apologies for the confusion and just to clarify, I am not a thief but a bonafide locksmith. It is just that I have alot of these locks in my area of london and was wondering if anybody had any experience with them? :D

Banham cylinders are produced in Yale's factory. The standard is just a 6 pin Yale and only the section gives it more difficulty.
The later Banhams have side pins so prove more of a challenge, if you collect several locks you will see ways it can be done though.

I do believe this is why the high security Yale cylinder promoted in the early nineties never appeared, they might have sold Banham exclusivity.
