Petersons... Rubber vs Plastic Handles?

Postby SIUCpilot » 18 May 2017 19:15

I have a few Peterson's with rubber handles in my set. I do not have any plastic handled Peterson's.... The rubber handle is SO comfortable, but does the plastic offer better feel of the pins?

Rubber, being softer and more resilient, will dampen feedback, which is why it is used in things like engine mounts and on the bottom of mixers and other places where you need to isolate vibration. That means less tactile feedback is relayed to you through the handle.

I also get feedback directly from the pick itself, since my index finger is on the bare metal forward of the handle.

Different strokes for different folks.
