Question about the HUK Tubular Lock Pick Set

I do not need to know how to use one, I have watched enough videos to understand them.
I also do not own a set yet. But have an older set ordered.

What are the tension pins for?

I have seen that the older sets have 3 tension pins included but the newer sets no longer include the tension pins.

So are they something you need or something you can do without?

What do you mean by "tension pins"

Mine came with some spare parts including the metal inserts that depress the pins, and small metal rods that are inserted at the tip of the tool. Could these be what your are referring too?

At this time, due to the prevalence of tubular locks in vending machines and cheap gun safes, the picking of them is restricted to the advanced forums. This is primarily so we do not teach people with less than savory reputations how to break into something.
