Lai tubular Lock shear line question

Postby Pattycakes4 » 16 Jun 2018 7:19

Hey guys, so I have a l.a.i 7 pin tubular lock that I been having some trouble getting my head around, I can spp it no problem and get it to spin as many times as I want but it still does not unlock, I can use a tubular lock pick as a key and spin it but it still does not open..

So I have come to the conclusion that this "stop go enforcer series" lock may have 2 shear lines in it because of the overlock system. Is it possible that I have picked it to the shear line that is used for the overlock system and not the shear line that is used for actually functioning the lock? (the overlock system is kind of like a master key but it does not open the lock, it simply turns the cylinder counter clockwise 90 degrees to lock out the standard key from working)

Any help would be great it's been doing my head in for a fair while now I just can't seem to figure it out

Thanks guys

since LAI locks are often used on vending machines, laundry machines, and on self storage units, and we're mindful not to help someone get in somewhere they shouldn't, we usually don't discuss tubular locks in the open. I realize its 30 year old technology and whats the big deal, but I would need to see a photo of your lock with your screen name on a piece of paper next to it so we can verify you are a hobbyist practicing at your coffee table vs someone getting into a lock currently in use.

I hope thats reasonable of us,

excellent, exactly what we needed.

I like that wrench you have up top, where did you get that?!

As far as an overlock feature, I will have to look into that, but if you look at your keys, is there an over lock key or one key that seems to have much shallower or much deeper cuts milled around it?

So when I use the southord tubular pick and I decode it this is the codes for each point on the key if that makes any sense

So your right they are the deep cuts and it's a very simple key almost all the same
