What kind of key is this? I'm having hard time to buy blank

Postby cristian100 » 29 Nov 2018 16:41

Hi to all of the experts on LockPicking101, thanks for your site this has been a helpful website for me in the past, and I was hopping to ask for some more help again.

I bought a lockbolt for my office that I liked, but it had only 2 sets of keys to open it, since in my building we have multiple people that gets in, we would like to give more keys, but I haven't been able to find a Key Blank that matches, there are already places in my city that can duplicate it, but they don't have that exact key blank.

The brand of the lockbolt is "Defiant", and I'm attaching a picture of one of the keys.
The meassure of this key are:
2.5 inches per .83 inches and .1875 inches

In cm:
6.1 cm per 2.4 cm and 0.2 cm

What country are you in?

That is a dimple lock, I am in the USA and did not know Defiant made a lock with a dimple mechanism.

Interesting

In Columbia Schlage has licensed their name to a company that makes a dimple key. Would not be surprised to find Defiant did the same thing.

You should have given measures of the the key blade that goes into lock, instead of giving measures of the key head.
Anyhow that looks like a blank that I first got for a Multilock and have used the same for few off brand bicycle locks.
