My lock gets stuck

Postby feerbau » 25 Jan 2019 15:56

Hi, I'm new to this and I'm having problems while trying to open a lock. When I get to set the pins, the lock turns a little but it gets stucl. Sometimes I'm able to open it, but sometimes it gets stuck. Here is a video of what happens.
If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it.

Probably just a crappy lock with bad machining finish and tolerances. Try some good quality lube and spray it good. I'm not talking about WD40.

My quick guess would be that it is, as stated, a cheap lock.

Suspect it has a short key pin coupled with a short driver pin. If the lock is not picked to the right position, then both the key pin and driver pin are below the shear line, leaving the spring to block the shear line. It allows the plug to turn further than a false set, but not far enough to operate the locking dogs enough to open the lock.

Just my two cents.
