Lockwood pin sizes

I've got a rekeyable Lockwood padlock I've taken apart and I'd like to change the pins for some pick practice.

I'm a bit confused why online retailers are selling pin kits specifically for Lockwood - is there something unique about them?
Would any of the Lab kits suffice?

I also can't find any information about the pin diameter - are they 2.8mm or 3.0mm?

Diameter is given as 0.115" in a spreadsheet I found, although I suspect the true size might actually be 3mm

As far as pin sizing goes, the Lockwood pin kits only carry the pin sizes used in Lockwood products.
It's a subset of the 0.005" Lab kits.

Which country are you from? If you are from Australia or New Zealand then that Lockwood company is different than the out of business Lockwood company from the United States. I have a feeling the pin kits sold in the USA have the specifications for the American based Lockwood lock company of Fitchburg, Massachusetts.

Here is a photo of the old factory, it appears they were part of or shared space with Independent Lock Co (ILCO)


Let me check which Lockwood the LAB pin kits are designed for. The LAB pin company is down the road from me.

Australia. I didn't realise they were an international company.

On English and Australian websites they offer either 2.8mm or 3.0mm pins which correspond to 0.110" and 0.118" respectively.
The 0.115" American standard sits right inbetween.

I don't know whether the 2.8mm and 0.115" are supposed to be equivalent, or whether there are three distinct sizes.
