Lock pick set or lock picking gun

Postby mario1234 » 11 Sep 2020 15:32

Hi,

I am a total beginner in locking picking and I am looking for tolls to pick some basics locks.

So what is worth buying for me lock picking set with clear locks to practice or lock picking gun that doesn't require a lot of practice and knowledge compared to lock picking set.

Which one do you recommend for a total beginner.

Thanks

A pick gun doesn't teach you anything, it's kind of a blunt instrument. It has its place when you just need to get a lock open and don't care about technique, but if you really want to learn then get a set of individual picks and some tension wrenches, and invest in some good practice locks, and learn how to feel and understand what's actually going on inside a lock when you're manipulating it.

There are lots of threads on this forum with specific recommendations for all of those things, search around a bit and you'll probably find what you need.

I just want a tool that will get me through most basics locks.

What tool would that be?

Hello,

I see you are from Slovenia.

Why do you need to open most of the locks without practice? Every locksmith practices to get better at their job. Or are you not a locksmith?

Thank you,
Squelchtone

FYI I've seen the replies here, and will no longer contribute to this thread. I'd suggest others don't either. mario1234, don't take this the wrong way, but when a newbie with only a handful of posts comes on here and starts asking about ways to open a bunch of locks quickly without learning anything, it gets our spidey sense going. If you want more help here, you should probably be a bit more open about what you're trying to do and why.
