Customer forgot the key in the car

Postby chadhughes » 6 Jul 2022 21:37

I work for a river resort, and at least 3 times a week, our guests lock their keys in their car.

I'd like to help them out by unlocking their vehicles, and possibly charging a minimal fee. Here are my questions...

Can I charge them if I'm not a certified locksmith? If not, can I do it for free if I'm not certified? Lastly, which tools would y'all suggest I have in order to complete the job?

Thanks in advance for the replies.

You can always just take a suggested donation for the fee, marijuana sellers have been doing so for years--don't ask me how I know

The Big Easy used to be my fav but there's lots of these type tools out there

Sorry, but car opening and tools used are not discussed in the main parts of the forum where you postsed, as the lines are too blurry with helping someone learn automotive entry work, and accidentally having our members help someone learn how to break into cars.

There is a sub-forum dedicated to Automotive Entry & Tools discussion, but it is members only for approved/trusted individuals.

To figure out which tools to buy, watch which ones the AAA tow truck guy uses when he comes to the spam to help your customers. Locksmith laws and regulations vary state to state and even county to county, so you will have to contact local resources to check on the rules in your area.

Locking this thread, sorry we could not help you further.
