Marksman Padlock

Postby Ris22122 » 30 Oct 2023 10:52

Hi everyone,

As a beginner, I bought a marksman padlock. Photos are below

I have a problem picking the padlock. I used a few types of lockpicks. Photos are below

The third lockpick is the most relevant to the padlock the rest are too big (I cannot move them inside the padlock)
The biggest problem is that I cannot "feel" the pins (I do not know where they are in padlocks.

I found an extremely similar padlock on the LockPickingLawyer YouTube channel (the number of the video is 948).
The LockPickingLawyer used different lockpicks and tension wrenches to open the padlock.
My questions are:
1. Can I use my lockpicks to open the padlock or do I have to use the same stuff used by LockPickingLawyer
2. Also, how can I know which lockpick and tension wrench I can use for the exact padlock?

If you will have open to open the photos please let me know.

Regards,

  1. Yes, you do not need the same lockpicks as LPL.
  2. It depends on the keyway shape. This padlock looks like most generic pin-tumbler padlocks, so hooks and half-diamond profile lockpicks are usable on it. Crowbar-style tension tools on either the bottom or top of the keyway will work.
