I will post a picture here

I will borrow a digital camera and post a picture here tomorow of the lock.

The outside of the lock just says ARROW in capitol letters, nothing else. I hope the picture will help

Thanks for all the replies.

In the meantime...what type of lock is it? Knob, lever? or does it look like just a round circle in the door (meaning a mortise or rim cylinder.)?

Does the plug (the part where the key goes in) have the shape of a figure 8?

sample picture

Postby govintom » 9 Dec 2004 12:54

Since I will have a digital camera available tomorrow so in meanwhile I am tried to post some sample pictures but I couldn't because I realised then you can't just copy and paste a picture here on the message board which I tried to do.

So below is the url of a site. Look at the 2 locks picutes under the big heading called Mortise Locks. These 2 locks are similir to the my Arrow lock.

thanks

They are quite common on new housing, no problem picking them though..

This appears to be a problem with the school.

I don't know how to post pictures

Postby govintom » 13 Dec 2004 11:37

Sorry guys for the delay. I took the pictures but I don;t know how to put them in this message board. when I click on Img for image it gives me this icon [img], instead of asking me to browse a file form my computer.

Since I am a rookie at this, I contacted a locksmith who lives 15 miles from me. He is schedule to come next week with his lockpicks and will try to open it. He didn't give me any gaurantee that he we get the job done.
I just though that it would have been cool and fun if I was able to open it on my own.

I don't know what tools I suppose to use with my arrow lock. So far I used just a paper clip, that didn't work, so it seemed impossible and I have gave up.

"have gave up"?

Once you start thinking that doing something is impossible, then you have almost no hope of doing it. Try to think positive. Don't think about the lock itself, but don't think of anything else...just try to visualize what's happening inside your lock as you manipulate it. Thinking about the lock will just add stress when you are failing to open it. It you don't focus on opening it, then you won't get mad if it doesn't open, but you won't exactly be surprised if it does :D

Some of you probably realize that this sounds like something out of the Zen part of the MIT Guide, and thats pretty much where i came up with this. The wording is not exactly the same, but it has the same idea. I have the guide coming out of the printer right now 8)
