Rocking the Mushroom's?

Postby Ragnar » 20 Nov 2003 22:09

When does one "Graduate" to picking Mushroom locks? I've been knocking out all my "Home" locks and have thrown every combination into my practice lock and am picking those pretty quick. Is it time for me to rock the mushroom? Do you have a better suggestion for me to do next? Thanks for the heads-up and I look forward to hearing some ideas.

Sounds good. If you don't have the mushroom/spool pins for your practice lock, you can find 'em in Papaiz (made in Brazil) padlocks, and in higher end American and Master Padlocks. But why stop there? Move on to higher security and restricted key locks. :)

I picked my first "High Security" lock within a week of picking my first lock ever. (5 pin tumbler, 4 Spool pins, popped it within 4 minutes first try.)

You've got a lot more experience than I did at that point so you're definitely ready!

Just remember, FEATHER light tension is the way to go. Picking HARDER is not picking BETTER.

Btw, give my love to Dagney next time you see her and tell John I said Howdy.
