Need some advise

Postby Patch » 11 Jan 2005 9:38

Hello everyone,
Let me start off by saying thanks to this forum and all of it's members. This is one of the best forums I have ever seen and the moderators to a great job with this site. It has been awhile since I have been on this site so let me give some of my background. I am a novice @ picking locks and I want to learn as much as possible and I was thinking of getting the F/B program cause all of the positive feed back on the program, but was also considering getting the lockout specialist program from www.locksmithbiz.com I need as much information as possible about this line of work. My goal is to start of part time with a lockout business and then move into being a locksmith full time. I was wondering what program you guys thought I should start with. Thanks for any input in advance and I hope I can get some good advise from a couple of the moderators like Varjeal and Romstar, but all advise is welcome. Thanks again guys.

I think you should start off with a basic locksmithing course, and then specialize in whatever you want. This is because, if you have a business which deals strictly with lock-outs, you won't get as much business. Aswell, if people need a locksmith, they might bring you business involving other aspects of locksmithing. People may need keys made, or perhaps advise on what kind of locks to buy. And If you have to go to a lockout, and you damage a lock, especially in automobiles, it would be better if you simply repaired the lock. However, a basic locksmithing course would be necessary information to have.
