What a nightmare

Received my KGB pick set in the post this afternoon. After 15 minutes of trying the 4 different picks in the set, i picked my first lock ever on my front door with one of the picks. Then a few minutes later i picked it again and a minute later i did it again. I tried the other 3 picks in the set with no joy so i returned to the pick that seemed to work. On my forth attempt, just my luck, the pick snapped in half. Does anyone know where ya can buy replacement KGB picks? I have looked around sites and it only sells as a set as far as i can see. I have been trying the same lock with the other 3 picks and i still can't do it. I really don't want to have to buy another complete set for £58 when all i need is one pick. I know ya can buy ordinary single picks but i would like to get the exact same pick if only to have my set complete again? Cheers guys.

You can order individual picks made by SouthOrd from http://www.lockpickshop.com. They are not the KGB picks, but I'm sure you'll find something you like. Don't forget to put LP101 in the coupon box.

Cheers DB. I do have another 20 piece pick set from Southord. I really would like to get a replacement KGB pick though. Not just to complete the set again, but also, so far the pick that snapped on me is the only pick out of the 24 picks i now own that i have actually managed to open a lock with. None of the other picks in either of my 2 sets are exactly the same as the one that snapped and i haven't seen a single pick on any website that is exactly the same as it apart from in the KGB set. I really don't want to have to buy another full KGB set just to replace that one pick.

which pick from the kgb set is it? I have part of the hpc regal set I can scan so you can at least have a 1:1 template to make a new one.

It's ok zeke. I think i found one the same shape. It's the MLS 12 slimline pick. I can just order it, cut the handle in half and put the little rubber handle cover on it. Thanks for the help guys. I really appreciate it :)

Are you going to upgrade your front door lock now?

I know I would...

Why would i upgrade it? The sort of people who live around here don't use lock picks to break in to houses. Unless there is a lock pick set out there with picks the shape of bricks :P

The Dude has nilhists with ferrets kicking his door down, didn't you see the "big lebowski" when he gets knocked down, he becomes a bowling ball going through the legs of cheerleaders in bowling costumes.

I like the sound of the cheerleaders part. I wouldn't mind picking a cheerleaders lock with my pick :P

Hang on - you yourself picked your own front door lock in a short time (how long?) within minutes of getting a lock pick, and that doesn't worry you at all?
