if the same pin binds almost every time is there a good chance that it has a security pin. also what is a good cheap brand of lock to take apart so i can remove some pins to practice technique

Try a Kwikset padlock.

What do you mean by the same pin binding? At one point or another while picking, every pin should bind at least once.

i have a flase set on the driver pin almost every time i pick this one padlock it is cool because it taught me how to fix them but i am just curious if a security pin is why it is happening

Yeah, it could be. It could also just be configured so that it sets in a nasty way, somehow or another, making it easy to mess up. Without being able to see inside the lock (unless you make a cutaway or something), it's hard to know WHY something's happening; sometimes the best you can do is to figure out WHAT and how to fix it.
