Question on picking this type of Lock?

Postby RichBytes » 22 Jun 2005 18:06

Hi,
I'm a complete newbie in lockpicking and I wish to start learning lockpicking by picking this type of lock in my dad's office:twisted: .
May i know which tool should i use for this type of lock?
Can i use Dyno Kwick Lock Pick which available at http://www.lockpickshop.com to pick this lock? Thanks

Well, this doesn't look like a good lock to get started on. Also, do you have permission to pick this lock? This looks like a standard pin tumbler lock--the best way to learn is to practice on easier ones, plenty of info on these in the FAQ section.

Can anyone say breaking and entering? Am I an accomplice by responding
Rich, if you do not have express permission from your dad, don't do it. 1. it is unethical, 2. it's illegal, 3. if you break a pick off in it, or break the lock, your'e gonna have alot of explaining to do. I don't want to discourage you however from getting interested in lockpicking, buy a cheap set of picks and practice on something you don't use.

good luck :)

cracksman, I think you did become and accomplice by responding. Ah crap, why did I respond for, I guess where in the same boat. LOL Anyway, Rich, I don't think you should do it. Personally, I wouldn't want to pick any lock at my parents job, even if I had permission.

I agree with TPAM (The Person Above Me), try a simpler lock for practice.
