You are really asking a question about personal favourites in regards to picks. There is no 'one-pick-unlocks-all-super-duper-lock-pick'. Rakes are good, hooks are better, diamonds are the same, balls for wafers, etc, etc. There are plenty of threads on this issue. I suggest you purchase a 5 piece set, 4 picks and a wrench, everything a beginner needs.
Some things may be pick proof, but everything can be bypassed....

As mentioned stick with the beginner set, this will give you days of challenges at first and you will use them for a long time before you need to move to something else.
This is what I did and I am still using the first picks I ever got.
take care

I've yet to hear someone complain about a short hook.

The smell of burning hair is also a perfectly natural process when hardening picks

Don't worry about the trembling when carrying out the hardening process, it will go away eventually.
If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!

Put down the clip and get the f*ck away from the outlet!

Just in case it is not perfectly clear:
THE POSTERS ABOVE WERE JUST JOKING ABOUT HARDING A PAPERCLIP BY PUTTING IT IN AN ELECTRICAL OUTLET
About the only thing that would harden would be you, as rigor mortis sets in (in other words, you would be dead).

Dear James;
Please do not put anything in an eletric outlet. I promise you, it will hurt like h*ll, but only for a minute. I only say that to people who come strutting in here like some sort of cross between Ali G and James Bond. I was joking. Please PLEASE do not put anything in the outlet!
Kisses!

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this point....
I mean, rigor mortis, kisses, that is really funny...
But having to warn members not to stick metal objects in outlets
I learned that after SFGOON's first post ->
Hugs!
