Devildog, how do you think the picking is? you don't really get a shot of the cylinder, i am guessing its just a facny chrome housing.

I don't think so, it looks like the case is made for the padlock as it appears the foam has been molded, or cut, specifically for that lock, so it was done at the factory--why???

I think it's a working lock, and Abus is decent quality lock and would probably be fairly challenging, maybe roughly along the lines of an American padlock.

Oh yes i was only jokeing hence the smily (i did add the smiley didnt i?) im sure it is a factory set, maybe a reps product case but factory non-the-less, they have some weird stuff come out of their place things you would never have thought would have a market, ive seen gold plated padlocks for example.

i bet that padlock is actually a prototype ABUS 07/08. yup. 6 pin stacks, all key pins are serrated, there are 2 spools, 2 mushroom, and 2 serrated driver pins. the lock has an anti torque spring system, which causes advanced anti-torque, which means you need a screwdriver to turn the thing. the shackle is triple ball locking system. (yes triple).

and best of all, the case has another different brand padlock to keep the ABUS safe. (except from us)

of course this is a joke...but what if it wasnt? GULP :lol:

could you imagine? i dont even know where that 3rd ball would go, but i fear for when they find a place to put it. and really? it would be soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad if a lock of such difficulty was made...locknewbie21 (andy) was talking about pinning a lock with all variations of security in a single lock a while back...dunno if he ever got around to though.

I did it's great

I am actually making a cutaway of the master 991 padlock i have, it was pinned 5 but has a 6th stack, took some looking but in it is as follows (i should probobly add this to the tread i started.

1-6 bottom- all serrated :twisted:

1-6 driver- 1standard 2 and 3 are spool serrated (brinks shouded)

4-5 mushrooms (abus) 6 average joe spool (master 991)

and springs, 1-6 has alternating springs to screw up feel as well :twisted:

... sorry having fun with the faces.

I can safely say that the key with (hand filed 6 pin position) works as though its a normal lock and fuctions fine.

As far as long term durability, jamming and such... don't know.

Now on to the good stuff. The false set is strange as when you apply neg. plug rotation as you set one pin, one two three or four will fall. Its wierd the security pins all have there own feel... but also have a given amount of neg. plug rotaion to properly set them some a littel more than others.

So actually if its durable and won't jam on the customer, you can call it high security. Now theres always all the bypass's and and drilling. But for pickign alone.... good :twisted:

I know the post is long, but if you try it, atleast for me, reading it is tricky, theres all these diffrent feels, its really neat.

I have not picked this yet.. but i do know as far as normal key opereation it is deffinatly plausable. The only thing like i said is, how will it hold up? Mines been fine, but it has not been on the outside of a door yet in cold heat and rain.

Pretty cool expierement though. The security pins, i bought from a lockie around my ways, to many butchered padlocks would have died in this expienement. Pins cost me 2$

I bet that was used as an exhibition piece for merchants (I can't see any other practical function). Looks pretty snazzy.

i wonder what you would lock up with taht....
wait, ive got it, the perfect use for it. all you have to do is get 2, then put one in a case and lock taht one in the case with the other lock
