Simple lock with an easy keyway, pick it like you normally pick locks,

Not sure of the make,

Well you have to try differant picks and maybe put your wrench at the top of the keyway,

Normally angleing the picks as you go in works well as well,

That is simular to what we call a normal keyway over here, you may have to gring a pick into a slim line to do it,

not sure of the brand but it doesn't look too bad.
try to follow the profile of the keyway with your pick.

thats very typical of a european/british lock.

once you have a slimline pick you'll find it a lot easier getting around that warding :)

Unknown Keyway: Solved! Lockwood

Postby David_Parker » 2 Apr 2007 17:55

Incorrect on the Yale I think, my guess is that its a Lockwood, specifically a H1004A found http://www.kaba-ilco.com/key_systems/pdf/Key_Blank_Directory_catalog_60_2004_NA_Cylinder_2.pdf%20%20here

Photos and process soon to come.

No idea on brand but i agree with the top tension suggestions.

I deal with locks like this with a cut down SO Twist flex. sorry about how blurry it is, its the only pick i have to hand.

But that should fit nicely in the top, and looking at the bottom of that key way its going to slip if u don't push forward on the tensioner as well.

I'll second the Lockwood (L1), or Independent (IN33 or IN35) keyway, they're the same keyway, but it should help give you a lead on manufacturer. It will also help to know what area you are in as some locks are more common in one place or another. I live in NJ and I've never seen a Weiser lock, as popular as they are...

Yeah, looks like a lockwood I have. Honestly? It's not the worst thing you're going to come up against, but first time I hit one I was shocked too :P If you get into the European locks you'll see some real bastages.
