im hooked but not too good!

just returned to liverpool from florida with some picks. found a lock in the kitchen drawer im determined to crack this lock, its a squire Lp9. i dare say you guys could blow it open but its got me up the wall. ive been at it for hours and only got the wrench to turn twice about halfway! i will crack it some day and i will let ya all know when. any advice would be good

Well depending on the model. i haven't played with one my self but some of there locks look pretty nasty. have u got a picture or model number of it?

just says squire LP9, feels like im getting closer but not quite there. would it be best working from the back forward or from the front? good job ive got no work tomorrow!!!

By "halfway", do you about 10-20 degrees? If so, it most likely has security pins. Search for discussion on how to deal with them, or get an easier lock to start with.

looks to be third from the left, im just gonna stick with it. hopefully determination will prevail but brand new to this! been reading up as much as poss and think i could be pushing one of the pins up too much........ just keep adjusting the pressure and hope it cracks

its a 5 pin lock with no mention of security pins so i think your safe enough

says southord on the case, just 4 picks and a wrench. gonna try another one, been using the diamond one

do you know if u have the standard or slimline ones?

if its the standard that could be your problem, and the hook is your friend.

really dont know? i will get some thinner ones if i see them but these seem pretty thin? magnum used to make it look so easy.

Does the key turn in both directions to open the lock?
If so, try putting tension in the opposite direction than you have already tried.
Has worked for me on a couple of locks.

tried two other padlocks and the door lock on my shop and got them all....................... went back to the squire and hey presto the thing spun open, yippee
