Extensive. :)

Actually, this set of books is amongst my prized possessions. There is a wealth of information, and well worth the pennies you spent.

I bought a set soon after discovering this site back in 2004. Great book. It shed so much light on the world of locks and security. I think I've only tapped maybe 10% of the book 3 years later. The safe section should be interesting and useful now that I work as a lockie. I plan on buying the new DVD LSS Locksmith edition too soon.

You will enjoy LSS the book(s). It has so much material in it. You can't reall take it all in. I guess that's what makes a great reference book.

and I'm guessing you have either the public or locksmith version correct?

I don't think I'm ready to spend $250 yet on any book, so hopefully an ebook will show up somewhere. Or maybe the local library will carry a few copies

eBook? Well if it was something published by Paladin Press I'd let that slide and it wouldn't bother me at all. But we're talking about Lock, Safes and Security!!! By Marc Tobias, the coolest individual in the security industry who chooses to hang around with people like us.

If you ever seen or read the book you would agree that it is well worth paying over $200 for this book set.

Trust me, I usually don't get all finicky about copyright junk whenever theres a discussion about it but for LSS I will stand up for. Unless you're paying for the eBook from a respected publisher you deserve a good raking in your keyhole.

Well if its really that good... then maybe I'll start saving up for it.

Cept I really want to do the Foley Belsaw course and become certified. Which do you think should come first.

If you take the course first it'll make you feel special and "educated". If you buy and read LSS first you'll zip through the FB course 3 times faster, if not faster and you'll end up feeling ripped off. I took the second route.

So what other ways are there to becoming certified besides taking one of these courses? Then I could buy LSS and not worry about learning anything from these courses.
