I decided to order the piece peterson plastic handle set as a trial. I went to http://www.peterson-international.com to order the picks.
made myself an account, put in my correct information, and when i submited the information I was met with a "document not found" page??
https://www.netstores.com/dwos-bin/an_auth.pl
I used an option to have the site send me an e-mail with my account information and was met with the same document not found page. However when i checked my e-mail, an e-mail was indeed sent with my information. So does this mean my credit card information was accepted by the website?
I'm very displeased with this turn of events.

I would suggest you email or phone peterson. Computers regularly do weird things like this and I am sure if you call them they will help you out.
Consider me inactive or lurker.

I just ordered petersons as well, and the same thing happened.
Got my picks just fine.

Note for international buyers:
I tried that and it produced with some credit card error. When I emailed Peterson he said that they do not ship orders internationally because of fraud in the past, hence the credit card company wont let them. So I bought the picks from lockpicks.com

That is a shame I would like to have ordered a pick case, just because they are nice. But if they don't ship internationally, I have a problem there.

for the regular members, If you all want(compeltly upto you) You can have them shipped to me at my command when I get my new address and I will just redirect them to you once i recieve them. This is competly upto you though. If the the problem was international credit card orders, putting the ammount needed on paypal and then sending ti to me is another option. NOTE, this is NOT saying I will buy picks for everyone. Just those people I know on the forums and know that they are NOT a 12 year old kid stealing parents credit cards. Post here if your interested and I will see what we can work out.

Since i started this thread i guess i should fill you in on the latest events. Today (friday june 4th) someone from peterson international called me to notify my i placed 2 orderders, and wondered if it was by accident (apparently they've had this problem for a while.) i told them i only wanted 1 order and they shipped my picks out today. So, looks like my picks are on their way.
They're sending them today on friday, you think they'll be here by tuesday?

Well,
I recieved an e-mail from ken persson of Peterson Co. The emal stated:
"You made double order entry on your order. During my call to remedy this, it became apparent that you may not be a locksmith.
As such, your order s have been canceled.
Please contact me if this decision was made in error.
Ken"
What happened was my sister answered the phone, and he had asked for "the locksmith Conor" and my sister replied with, "locksmith? oh, conor messes around with that stuff, but he's at work...etc."
So this sucks, Looks like i can't get my peterson picks after all after I got my hopes up waiting for days for the package to come . I'm tired of being discriminated against for wanting to practice a hobby. I'm not breaking the law. .
Just venting.

I always entered in my mobile incase the called, but maybe you didint give them yours.... Anyway maybe you should ring up and rectify and say you certainly are a locksmith! If he asks further say you are an apprentice part time. But thats the thing legally being a locksmith is good for situations like this...

I already replied back with an email stating im not a bonafide locksmith, however I am learning the trade, and have been recommended to his product by other hobbyists and enthusiasts.
Im not about to lie and pretend to be a locksmith.
Question: What exactly DO I have to do in order to check the box that says i'm a locksmith? Take a course?

I could imagine some nice combinations, peterson doesn't have on offer:
3 fold wallet with slender set and U-Bent it stuff
the 3 fold wallet and the other nicer cases (sheepskin ... yeah) are not available single. Just as sets.
A combination of case and U-Bent it could also be nice for some people
Good I still have some time to decide on what exactly I'll buy.

I had the same problem, my order did not go thrue, so i called ken up, real nice guy. everything was like all ready to go, and then he asked you are a locksmith. um ah no just a hobby picker. oh well then I can not sell you this stuff. I was so sad. wanted those picks and the case so bad.
the reason i dont buy the set off of lockpicks.com is cause i dont want the rubber handles, just want the full set of plastic. and I dont want the you bend it stuff. I can make all the tention wrenches I need out of sweeper bristles. oh well.
