Heyho, I've got only one Padlock with removable core, and tons of padlocks without. So my question is: where can i get some more Pins to re-Pin my removable core? this is one of my ordinary Padlock's but that can't be the trick to destroy all of my other locks I know that i can drill out the binding Plug on the side of that type of padlock, pick it and remove the core, but that's still a destroyable method. So is there any Shop where i can get like 100 Driver, 100 Keyway Pins in diffrent sizes? i allready asked all local locksmiths... one alternative would be filing my own Pins from Welding wire e.g.

I don't think I've ever seen spooled key pins before! This is very exciting!

I found them in nearly all "Burg Wächter Profi" Locks from my Charge. Other "Burg Wächter Profi" have e.g two Spool Driver-Pins (guess their springs where too short) ... seems thtat they change Design from time to time...
but that doesn't solve my Problem .... i Need more Pins !

Forgive me .. but your inquiry is into removable core, yet your picture is of a fixed core that you milled and drilled out? Did I miss something? ..... btw- very cool spool pins...
The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Hello Barthel, Be sure to get pins that match your specific brand of removable core padlock, as not all pins will work in all padlocks. For example, 'Master Lock' padlocks with removable cores will need the appropriate sized matching pins. However, they don't necessarily have to be Master Lock branded pins though as there are companies such as LAB that make separate pin kits and refills for a wide range of lock manufacturers (e.g., LAB makes pins to suit Master, Best, etc..). If you are in North America try CLK Supplies - you don't have to be a locksmith or have an account to buy from them. http://www.clksupplies.com/shop/lock-pins-c-22.htmlKind regards, Sean

Well I'm from Germany, sitting in UAE at the Moment.
from what I found out, Abus and Burg Wächter (at least the Lock with changable core) having same diameter of Pins, I allready put several Bur Wächter Pins into the Abus core without Problems (apart from, that I don't have a fiting key than)

In case you don't find any pins, you can make some yourself. However, to make good pins, you should not handfile your pins from wire, but use a dremel like tool and grind them.
Maybe, I will start a thread explaining how to make high quality pins. Actually, it's not as hard.

What I did is I got a drill and I spun the keypins on the tip after I fixed it to the pin's size and I got a file then I drilled the sides to make home made pins. I would show you pictures of the finished product, but I don't have any... but you should try it though. It works like a charm and you will get some funky pins to work with.

Honestly... before i start with a handfile or Dremel (in my Case Proxxon) tool i'll use a milling mashine with a newly sharpend shissel... I thought about using stainless steel welding wire (2,4-3,2mm Dia) but the 1.4541 is simply to "smeary" it gets scraces, dents and flakes sticking on the pin surfaces too easy .... so I most probably will try to get some more solid wires. Never the less for Training i'd like to use "Standard issued" Pins.

This was a 2003 Model of: "Burg Wächter Profi 116 40" I have stripped a 2012 Version of the same Model: no Spool-Drivers but! 10 Spools: strange.... It's not masterkeyable so i guess their Spools or springs where to short...

Those are spool drivers. Additionally, the extra driver pins are added to prevent comb pick attacks.

Just when you finally think you have learned it all, that is when you learn that you don't know anything yet.

ok, thank you for answering this, I was wondering who was drinking on the job at the lock factory that day, but it all makes sense now.
