yeah, most newbies seem to get that one, i got the 17piece set though

you may find that you will need a couple of different sized tension wrenches after a while, when it arrives though, you'll be having great fun and what you ordered will be more than enough

one tip though, buy a practise lock, never pick a lock you rely on for security. :wink:

thanks, will do, i'll probably just pick my bedroom door lock, i don't use it that often, and i have no money to buy a practice lock :-\ gonna have to save up!

i dont know what country you are in, but scrap yards/junk yards, UPVC fitters/any kind of window and door fitters and Ebay you will find cheap or free locks by the bucket load, failing that, just save up again and pick any lock you can find in the mean time :wink:

most people have an old padlock lying around the house somewhere, so you could learn to pick that, or just go with your bedroom door as you said.

i live in the US, michigan, you would figure that in the motor city you could find some old wipers for picks, or locks, but nope, i have not a clue where a junkyard is, i'll have to do some research

you could try looking up junk yards in a phone book, or call an operator and ask to be put through to one (i have no idea how things work un the US)

mechanics will probably be able to give you the metal bits from the wiper blades that you need, other than that you can probably pick up some wipers really cheap from a gas station. street sweeper bristles are good for picks as well, in regards to locks, i've been practising with just old padlocks, i've only just got a real lock to work on.

Search for any used car parts businesses in the area, they're in the yellow pages. I've been to plenty for old parts for my car. The people who run them are nice enough and you could probably get what you need for free.

man I hope your picks show up soon. I am still waiting for mine. I ordered them about 2 and a half weeks ago. Then last monay they send me an email saying they "have been shipped". Well it is 7 days later and I'm starting to get worried. I ordered straight for SO by the way. Anyone else think they should have arived by now? what should I do?
