Defeating Abloy Classic Padlock

Postby graham33 » 17 Sep 2005 16:10

Just wondering how a Abloy classic padlock works from inside and out. 8)

Also any practical ways to open these darn things other than shaped charges.

Is shimming out of the question :?:

And is there a civillian way to get hands on a Falle decoder?

Any info would help.

Thanks. :)

Hi graham.

Have a go with the search function of the site. Barry Wels and Han Fey of Toool have been releasing papers on the working of the Abloy lately. Barry has posted links here to those docs. Or you could find the docs directly at the www.toool.nl website.

Cheers!

Multipick and safeventures have them. The "falle tool" is actually called the Abus Granite opener tool. It retails for €414.58 on Multipick and £176.25 on safeventures. That's $508.687 from Multipick and $318.75 from safeventures :? I believe that Multipick sells to civilians, it is questionable if safeventures sells to civilians.

And no, they cannot be shimmed.

I don't think the Granite pick works for both. The keyways are different although the concepts are the same. I think Falle makes an Abloy Classic specific decoder. Someone posted pictures of a Chinese tool for the job a while ago. Might want to check that out.

I thought they both use the half-circle keyway, I also heard that they both should work? If not, just disreguard everything I said, then. Noory posted that pick, but the company only sells wholesale.

Abus Granite is rectanglular, Classic is half circle. Aside from that I'm not sure if there is any reason why it wouldn't work for both.

Is anyone planning a wholesale purchase from them? If not, maybe the board could do one like we have in the past depending on the numbers. I was fairly impressed with the selection though and would like to see that distributor go somewhere. I guess Noory would be the person to talk to about all this.

Uhh... Could you change your sig? It's not really appropriate for this forum. Forget about picking Abloy's for criminal reasons if that's your idea of fun. If the reasons why aren't obvious to you it's further proof you shouldn't be trying it.

I wasn't aware that the Granite is rectangular. I guess you could modify the tip, but that isn't a good idea on a tool costing $300+

Yes, I think Noory is planning a wholesale deal with them, but it might fall through. I think he is the process right now, PM him if you want details. If the deal does fall through, we could help out Noory, or we should do as you suggested. When in the past has this been done?

And TOWCH, I thought they had a great selection, too. They had picks for Magnetic, Pin-in-Pin, Disc and everything else you can imagine.

It's mainly been small bulk orders in Buy Sell Trade. I think Varjeal did one for some cutaway locks, someone was doing one for Multilock Interactive Bumpkeys(I'm still kicking myself for missing that one), and a couple others. I think the largest order was around 50 or so though so unless their idea of wholesale is still fairly small, it seems like this will take a more serious investment. I guess I'll drop him a pm after I reread the thread.
