I really exercised too much! The keys werebroken due to the repeated torque I applied! Furhermore my finger has a violet color now (Due to thousands of accidental hits). As the number increases, small forcess can make enourmous damage!

illusion wrote:you broke three keys?

you are definately hitting them too hard in this case...

have you seen the videos I posted recently regarding bumping?

I have found that whilst it relies on some luck to a certain extent 10 strikes or less are are usualy all that's needed to bump the lock.

I can bump the lock 1 out of 3 times as long as it is in my hands and I turn it clockwise  Otherwise the precentage of succesful hits drops to 1%!

I watched the videos after I read your post and it really helped. Now I'm hitting more mildly. Although it seemed impossible to bump with such a small force, actually it is easier.

I concluded that the reason is the roughly cut keys. Because more than unsuccesful hits, I usually end up with a half turned key. Some of the pins easily set but the others stops the lock.

Today I will try to get a proffessionally cut key set from a locksmith. I will tell him that I'm planning to use the keys on a project at the university. I hope he will believe me after seeing my ID card as an assitant at the faculty of mechanical engineering

Regards...

You are absulutely right! I only reccomend to use the side of a square file once and for all, instead of one flat file for cutting and one round file for rounding

End of the day, last words, always true....gotta keep a soft hand on the lock. Of all the operators I´ve trained in the last ten years, woman have been the best pickers. Put away your man hands....only for surrep. ent.
Get on it and exploit!

schlagschlüssel

Schlag means to hit or beat. It also is a common austrian contraction of Schlagobers, meaning whipped cream. Its usually not sweetened, but really makes your Sachertorte delicious

chlüssel = key

I think the dutch is .. klopshluetel (my spelling is almost certainly incorrect)

Languages are fun.

You were close.

Dutch for "Bump key" is "Klopsleutel" (litterally: Knock-key).
You got it righ phonetically though, and you're right on one thing:
Languages are fun indeed.
