See if you can get it from your library, probably via interlibrary loan (ILL). That's what I did.

I'm just a little confused about this work, so anyone who can elaborate, should.
LSS is the title "Locks, Safes and Security". It is available in both hard bound book and CD-ROM. However, I wish it were that simple.
There's LSS+ mentioned both at security.org and within the book itself. Does this refer to the CD-ROM edition? Or is there a LSS and LSS+ version of CD-ROM? Is there a book bound version of LSS+ aswell?
I see there are "PUBLIC", "LOCKSMITH", and "GOVERNMENT" versions also available. Are these LSS, or LSS+? And does that mean BOOK, CD-ROM, or BOTH?
Reading the description from inside the LSS book, it seems to suggest there is a LSS+ book and LSS+ CD-ROM. But security.org fails to mention any of this.

Clarification:
LSS is the book.
LSS+ is the CD-Rom version.
LSS+/Public (Sometimes referred to as LSS/Public) is the electronic version available to anyone.
LSS+/Locksmith (sometimes referred to as LSS/Locksmith) is the electronic version available to locksmiths, government agents, and people that Marc Tobias otherwise deems qualified.
LSS+/Government (...LSS/Government) is available only to people working on locks, safes, and entry for the government.
LSS+/Alarms (...) is an extension of the Government version that includes alarm bypass information.
DAME is set of two discs featuring videos of Harry Sher discussing a wide variety of interesting things, availability presumably limited to the locksmith and safe technician community.
Apologies for any typos and factual errors as I'm a little drunk at the moment. Don't take any of the above to be gospel unless you've verified it with the man himself.

LSS+ is the CD-ROM, which has additional media and content not present in the bound edition.
There are several different versions of the work. The basic one is Public, which means it's available to anyone. The Locksmith edition is, at least theoretically, only sold to locksmiths. Government is for government agencies. Each increasingly secure version has more (and more sensitive) information, especially about matters like security systems.

What's especially funny is that we posted essentially the same thing... so there's now about 20 completely redundant posts in this thread

Wanted to mention one thing and ask another.
First, I found LSS in a library not too far from me and have it coming to my library through inter-library loan. So, if you want to check the book out before paying the big bucks for it, you might want to check the libary out.
Second, about the government version of LSS+. Would that be available to law enforcement? My father-in-law and my wife's uncle are both police officers and was curious if they would sell it to them. I'm sure I don't have much use for what's in that version, but the curiosity is getting to me

here's another question, to anybody who has lss+; is the content printable? I really don't want to drop that kind of money on something I won't even be able to print and stick in a binder.

I can't imagine it would be. Otherwise, the really high security stuff on the Locksmith and Government editions could easily be plagarized.

No, it can not be printed.
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

i'd be happy paying for the book itself if i didn't about the extra stuff i'd be missing out on. i really can't see myself reading hundreds of pages in front of a computer screen.
