First off it was chucklz that reminded me of matt blaze's essay he did, i read that a bunch of times, then i went to a friends house that had one and i mess with that one for a long long long time. Did alot of measurements. Then i made a chart with the possible combinations for it, In all it was about 4000 combinations for me to try. Then me and my friend took turns trying out the combos for about 8 hours. I was watching him and watching tv, and i saw something wiered when he was doing it, so i went back and tried the combo he tried and it worked. The combo that worked? Well i feel odd about telling people the combo to my new secure safe, but it was a low low high number ratio. I basically got lucky that it was on my list. Total time with playing with the safe? 18.5 hours. It had some deposit carbon slips that were blank inside, and a piece of paper of some stuff i dont understand. Its like a fax or something.
hahah you are a bunch of sarcatic guys. Yeah, it was already unlocked.
It was spun a hundred times before i got to it im sure, so it wasnt set to day combo.

You might want to recombinate it. likely it will require a special tool called a key. just get the model and make of the lock, and ask right here on the forum for more information. then when you do reset the comb, open the lock a few times without closing the door. If there are any mistakes, they are easily corrected if the door is already open.

thanks for the tip Raimundo. I have a set of safe keys that i bought second hand a while ago. I do belive i have the one to reset this model s & g, but i have never done it before. I know that the little mark that is at 94 when the other is at 0 is used to set combination, but i am not really quite sure how.

Dial combination to changing index.
Insert change key.
Turn change key, but don't overtorque!
Dial new combination to changing index, keeping in mind the last number can't fall into the forbidden zone.
Turn change key back.
Try dialling combination and unlocking the lock. Do this two or three times and make sure everything is working just as smoothly as it was before. Then close and lock the door, and write the combination down and hide it someplace safe. (On the "Safe" page in the dictionary, or some other location NOT NEAR THE SAFE. A smart burglar always searches the vicinity of the safe...)

Is there only one changing index? I thought safes with a changing index had two, one for a right-handed lock and one for a left-handed lock.

Never write the safe combination down if it can be at all avoided - if I'm cracking the safe, I might not find the combination; but if I find your combination, I probably won't have much trouble finding your safe! If you must write it down (because your memory is like mine), make sure you either encrypt it, or write each part of the combination in a different place so that it doesn't look like a combination.
One of my favorite encryption methods was very clever - a college student took an old algebra book, and tucked in a sheet of what looked like unfinished homework. The last three problems on the sheet would solve to the combination to his parent's wall safe.
