Basically for those of you who dont know what a 114 decoder is it is a decoder for a chubb 114 lock. All the impression does is speed up the decoding process by reducing the possible number of key codes from over a 1000 to a lot lower figure (cant remember the exact figure).

Its about 36 isn't it ?

it depends on how many 1 or 2 levers in lock, but reduces it to between 16 to 81 possible keys , average is 54.

but almost as quick to work as a true pin and cam starting with 3's and this way is total NDE.

no clay key

Postby raimundo » 8 May 2006 10:09

Ya got it wrong, theres no clay key, its a clay mold for a key, just fill a mint tin halfway with sculpy, put in a separation layer of smoothed out sandwich wrap, or thin metal foil, also smoothed out, then put in the key to be molded, another layer of separator, and press it all tight around the key, heat it to set the sculpy, then remove the key, press in some fimo into the cavity where the key was and close the hot mold. or something like that,

Hmmm no, its a normal blank key with some metal removed then you smear plastercine on it then insert to the lock to take an impression from the levers to work out what the lever combo may be.
