wondering what type of lock this is

If it's a pin tumbler just like any other lock, if it's a tubular, you need a special pick that costs more then this lock box.

If your trying to bypass the electronics end of it, also can be done at least a couple of ways.

This *security* lock box operates on two AA pen batteries, and is made with less then durable construction. I'd love to tell you more about how-to, but you have to understand that no one knows who you are or why you need to open this box. So when a new person comes along and begins posting by asking how to open this lock, and in this case a safe lock box, every one is careful. Don't take it personal.

I know I was really put off by that when I first found this forum, I thought, how rude, no one wants to help a newbie! But soon seen it's just the nature of the beast. Locks and security are serious issues.

I'm sure this is your box and you just want to play around with it. But there is always the chance that it's not your box. Hope it helps you to at least know this box would not present any serious problems even for me :)
