Your here, and you want to learn to pick. Click on shrubs signature banner.
On a destructive note you can contact your local welder, and they can cut the box open for you.

Also you can pick a lock open, and you can also pick it closed.

hehe, dont think i havent thought of that:)

i am trying to just get it open w\out breaking the lock so when i do finally find the key i can pass it along to my dad :)

I would let him drive round with the junk in it until you find the key or your dad gets it open :P

Yeah if your giving it to your dad, you can give it to him on the condition he has a key made for it. Perhaps the manufacturer of the tool box can send you a key. Call them with your serial number etc..
