been dabbling with it since I was maybe 4 or 5. Using makeshift picks out of what was handy at the time. Mostly raking since I didn't understand what was really going on inside a lock. Haven't done much for the past few years. I'm 18 now and am finally use "real" picks.

I started to pick properly at the age of 28, but had bypassed the odd padlock that was laying around the garage from age 14 or so. Bypassed the odd door with a size 9 1/2 special tool too. Now 30 and using picking skills every few days for work. Spent most of the last couple of months learning to pick lever locks and now opening the common BS locks on the bench and just recently on the customers door.

+1 Funnily enough.
Except I still do it just as a hobby.

Picked warded padlocks at 10 or so, wafer locks at about 12. Started working as a lockie at 18, man that was a long time ago.

lets see i was 12 when i found out u could actually pick a lock so i started liking it then. I took apart an old door lock my dad had to see the inside and the pins went everywhere so that was the end of that lock :P. I never really got good at it but now i can buy a lockpick set (which i have done) hoping it works alot better then the paper clips i used back then =D.

Started picking locks a few weeks ago (been picking my nose all my life ) and I'm 19 in just under a few weeks (no need to give the exact date of my birthday :D). I can't really see myself picking for the trade, but maybe if it gets a bit easier and I learn the skills, then I might consider it. I love DIY too, but I'm no good because I'm too slow at it :(. At least with picking, you sort of have to be slow and careful lol.

16, I only started picking a few weeks ago... I always wanted to pick locks after watching movies like James Bond but just never got to it. Now I've started, it really isn't as hard as I thought it would be, just need to practice, practice and more practice :D
