I just took the lock apart again to check.

Very strange...if looking at the picture, the second pin from the left and the first pin on the right are smaller diameter than the standard pins. Both these pins fit in the seperate holes however the other two remaining pins don't fit as they're the exact same diameter as the standard pins. When I first took the lock apart, there were 3 pins in those seperate holes. The third pin, which is the one missing in the pic, I lost when my daughter accidentally bumped into my desk. The other two pins I found after I removed the cover from the core exposing the springs and standard pins. These 2 pins were located directly below 2 other standard pins. So, there was the spring, long standard pin, and then the very thin pin. It almost seems that this lock may have been made to use a master key. If so, I don't understand how it would work when the thin pins would fall in the second set of holes.
Is this the same type of 'construction' set that is being mentioned in this post?
