ok i opened my weiser and i was hoping they were security pins, to make me feel not a bad lockpicker... but!! there was none

so them i repinned it one pin after the other and at each pin i picked the lock.

1 pin...ok
2 pin...ok
3 pin...ok
4 pin... nope
5 pin ... not at all

is it kind of normal?

just keep practicing with 3 pins for a while but mix the pins around now and again.
once your really confident put in another pin and so on...

deffinatly, thats a step people skip. but dont only mix pins, mix the holes, stick them in the back 3 holes and see how you go.

You can develop a very simple and systematic method of varying the pins and position. Just take the "back" pin and move it into the next free position. Then of course permute the pin lengths, then move foward another position. Then eventually move back to the back of the lock and add another pin.
