Laser style of cutting on a standard key is what I am referring too. No, you cannot cut the worm track style keys with the framon. If need be, I can post a picture to show just what we are discussing. The method we are discussing is taking a normal say yale lock key and cutting it in a certain way that eliminates the peaks that are left after you make your plunge cut. It has nothing to do with say bmw, audi, vw, etc auto keys. It is just a method used to cut normal yale style keys in a certain manner.

Basically you leave no small peaks between your cuts as you would normally see when you cut a key with a normal code machine using the plunge cut method.

It is a confusing term used by companies such as ITL to describe an alternative cutting method that leaves no small peaks between bitting surfaces.

To cut a key to open the door of a car you need to just cut the key with the correct pin location and tracks such but to start the car you need to code the micro chip.

Trust me, I am well aware of this and have done so enough on some models that it is second nature to me. However, the topic at hand is explaining just exactly what is meant when you laser cut a key for a pin tumbler or wafer lock.

I have been happy with my ITL950C for standard type keys and I do know Intralock tools makes a computerized code machine for cutting the worm track laser style keys but I have not yet seen a price for it. HLFLake shows it in their catalog but I think you have to call for the price. Just be sure to do all the research in case you decide to code cut dimple style keys as some of these machines will. I am not sure about the ITL machine however as I never have inquired about it.
