Hi everyone,

I am new here..and I dont know if I am resurrecting an old thread...but I have a question...
most of the above posts are related to carrying Lock Pick on you (or carry on baggage) at the air ports

but my question is...

1) is it allowed to carry lock pick if they are in the Check In baggage ?, would I be committing a crime if i carry them ? if I do get stopped...would just giving up the lock pick set work ?

2)has anybody tried to take it through a middle eastern country like Qatar...I ask because I would traveling from Munich to Mumbai via Doha(qatar) and I was wondering if any of you have any trouble carrying them in Check In baggage (and not carry on)

any help would be appreciated... !

PS: I am beginner and not a locksmith or anything...

I had a Mul-T-Lock pick in my carry on luggage flying out of McCarran International after the '09 ALOA convention (wasn't letting it out of my sights after what I paid for it). They pulled me to the side and looked through my stuff. They didn't care about the pick. I forgot to take my laptop out and that's what they were freaking out about. TSA agents were actually cool about it and one was actually interested in how to become a locksmith.
