No, they have steel bristles or at least some of them do. I only know this because I had a job at a location where they work on them. ...I forgot to ask if they had any scraps. I'm sure they did and I probably could have gotten tons of them too. Oh well.

hmm interesting. I've never gotten so close as to be able to inspect, but I remember members here mention that you can follow behind one and pick up broken bristles; but I tried that on the ones in SLC and nothing seemed to be breaking off, so I came to the conclusion they weren't metal.
