I have a suede (:)) snap over case that was originally designed for a fold-up pocket sized coat hanger! (???)

Thertel, are you taking your lockpicking gear out into the field? Try this. I get one of those green, triple thick Durex condoms, put some CLP on my tools then tie them off in the rubber. I put them in the small pockets on my ruck. I tend not to keep them on my vest so it's as light as possible if I have to haul balls. Yes the CLP does eat the condom eventually, but jobs that require lockpicks generally don't entail a month in the woods. Also, if your gear is rusting you may want to get some stainless sets from Southord, though they are chromed, not exactly tactical.

Crazily enough its not even from taking them into the field, its from regular use, just out and about. The blackening faded off rather fastly and once it was off they rusted like crazy if I didn't oil them constantly.

Just order a Pelican 1500 case with a lid organizer and hydragel dessicant to store my picks in. I think this will prove to be a great pick case. I'm bidding on a 1650 which is a supersized case, so big that I can keep a laptop with reference manuals, and practically all the tools I have so far as well as all the car tools I'm in the process of making.

I was thinking of this glasses case:

Not all that crazy about the color, but it's waterproof :D

Peterson sells nice plastic tubes that are convenient. In fact if you buy any of the Just Picks sets, you get a tube with it. Rather convenient.

I've got a few of those actually, and they are rather nice, I just don't like them for pick storage.

I also store my non carried picks in the peterson tubes(pretty much the tubes that you would get machinist bits in)... They work great... The small tube that the peterson tension blanks come in perfectly house the HPC emergency pick set (added layer of heat shrink to the handles to stiffen them up) with a tension wrench. great for the pocket... about the same size as a sharpie marker.

My main carry case is my beloved Peterson Tri-Fold... Great Design with room for other selected picks and tools!!!

The best compact tool box that I've come across is made by Plano Tackle Systems(model 1120-00). It is double sided with a clear green lid on both sides. One side has six 5 1/4" x 1 5/8" vertical compartments that perfectly hold the Peterson plastic tubes in place (keeps my seperate pick sets from bouncing around). There is also one 7 3/8" x 1 5/8" vertical on this side that houses my HPC Computer Picks in a plastic tube nicely. The remaining 2x5" horizontal compartments on this side hold tension tools, plug followers, tweezers, etc.

The flip side houses twelve 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" compartments perfect for mortise cyllinders, padlock shims, tubular picks, keys, etc. and to top it off, this side also has a 7 1/2" x 4 1/4" compartment that perfectly houses the peterson Tri-Fold case! I have changed tool boxes many times to find one suitable for carrying my picking goodies and this one I believe is a PERFECT COMPACT SOLUTION! And for the $9.95 that Wal-Mart charges, it is certainly a bargain. The box measures 12.63"L x 8.88"W x 4.33"H.

Here is a pic of my Peterson Tri-Fold with my most-carried tools...

As I stated in the post above, all of my other tools including this set reside in my Plano Tackle Systems(model 1120-00) for transport and storage. I Will post a pic of that soon I hope.

Nice Case: dsd5150
I was looking for the Tri-Fold on Peterson but I couldn't find it.
So I had to go with the Bi-Fold case instead.

Leather is Soo Nice isn't it?

But now I need to find a case to hold everything.

I was thinking about something similar to this

http://tinypic.com/wk7ci
http://tinypic.com/wk7ef

this bag is actually my work first aid kit But if I can find something like it
"In Leather" that would be cool

Cause the entire bag zips up and there are separate Compartments for lets say. Tension tools, Tubular's, Circular tension tools.

Each compartment is also Secured with Velcro so that things wont be tossed around and mixed up

By the Way

dsd5150 what kind of camera were you using to take that picture.
Very clear crisp.
I currently have a Olympus C-4000Z 4.0 mp with all the goodies and lenses.
Hopefully for X-mas I'll get my Nikon D-70

lol, I'm sorry man, but I just imagined your parents running in your house before you get there so they can hide everything that may fit into a lock out of your reach and sight :P.

lol, I simply lay out my picks on a special shelf in my room, and take whichever picks I may need...usually my hook and dimond in a child's tooth brush case. BUT, if I were trying to be secretive like the AOL case...I would probably go buy a tampon to put them in...after all, who in the hell would steal a tampon??? -god help the poor girl that stole mine if I did that-
