I found Schlage to be harder to SPP but they are both real easy to zip open. I guess thats what its called, I apply light tension and hold my Sparrow short hook very lightly (so that it moves up and down with the pins as I pull it out) and just keep zipping it out of the lock. I have opened every single Schlage and quickset lock I have tried in a matter of seconds to maybe a few minutes.

I was hoping for something a little more challenging when I went to a door lock from the master lock padlocks (which I consider harder then either of the door locks) but still very easy to zip open

Is this normal for most of the quickset and schlage locks? or do I just have old versions?

The pinning has a lot to do with the difficulty, if you take the locks apart you can change the pins around,
it's like picking a new lock again

ain't that the truth. I had a 6 pin Schlage cylinder, it was very easy to SPP, but It only had 5 pin stacks, the 6th was empty. So I opened it and added the 6th back in. I gave it some extreme biting to make It interesting, even some different spring strengths. Now I can't open it. No Security pins. just nice smooth pins. But it's still beating me.

I noticed much the same thing at my last security conference, I could pick an arrow cylinder with 4 pins, but add the 5th and I was done.
At least with hand tools, I can do it easy with a pick gun

UnlockingBoredom, The order and intensity of the bitting can make a big difference. As you may have seen in some of the youtube videos the high low combinations can be much more challenging especially when reaching farther back into the lock for the additional pins -Nick

The couple of schlage deadbolts I own both have many spool pins in them.

The only pick resistance that kwiksets have it their terrible feedback when single pin picking. The pins are not crisp at all.
