I just saw this thread and looked at the lock and key.
Is this a four pin lock?
Can it be that there is a pin at the tip, at the 0 or 1 cut and you need to reach back--past pin #3--and lift this up?
That might be something to try. Put your pick into the lock and verify that you have 3 or 4 pins. If you have 4, then the deepest pin is also the highest and might be difficult to get at.
