Check up on MACS. That is:
Maximum Adjacent Cut Specification.
Each lock manufacturer specifies a MACS number for their lock. Kwikset's MACS is 4, the shallowest cut is a #1 and the deepest cut is a #7. This means that the deepest cut allowed to be next to a #1 cut, would be a #5.
