I'm kinda on the fence for the moral end of this one.

Just can't see any reputable locksmith or otherwise forgetting the tools of their trade like that. Make a living from them, and then just neglect to recall you possess 'em? Sounds fishy.

Only guess I can come up with is that this guy wasn't quite on the up and up.

lol i guess he takes lockpicking as a game or a joke :S id have to say its a hobbie/profesion/job/carrer and a sport

u kno when i picked my first lock it made me feel happy and thats why i still do it im trainging to be a locksmith and i have people calling me on training and hireing me so i think its good

I have left tools in the engine bay of a few vehicles I've worked on in the past. Backtracking throughout the days' jobs has led me to the correct vehicle and a phone call confirms the tools' whereabouts.

I'm sure if the case were as such here, the lockie (if he indeed exists) would probably have done the same. Even if he weren't a lockie, he did a favour and shouldn't be stolen from...if he exists.

If he does exist, the fact of the matter is that the tools may still be lawfully deemed stolen, since no effort what-so-ever has been made to return them.

Perhaps they were just stolen anyways and this convoluted story is a poor attempt at masking it. Just my opinion...shoot me. :wink:

They are definitely 'HOT.'

The story speaks for itself. My six year old can come up with more believable stories.

Hehe, my friend moved in a new (used) house. And from his snooping around, he lifted a ceiling tile to find a 9mm handgun. He never tried to return it, he just leave the ammo out of the gun and plays with it, loading empty cartidges and whatnot.

That's a lot different to a 'locksmith' 'leaving' his tools at your place after a 'job' and you not returning them. How exactly did your friend come to be lifting ceiling tiles....?

Thats sounds like the begining of a story you read in the paper under the headline, "Shot whilst playing with guns" or somthing, i cant beleive he didnt hand it into the police, a hidden gun left there, i bet your mates fingerprints are all over a murder weapon now,
