Bumpkey? (seems to me that a Medeco Biaxial was one of the locks mentioned by TOOOL as being bump-proof). Then again, are all recent Medecos Biaxial, or could he have had ones that weren't?

By the way...um...what's biaxial mean?

We were trying to dream up a Medeco bump key recently... Romstar swore he had a method, but I haven't tried it. You can find it on search.

Biaxial means the pins set based on two axies, in this case the elevation and rotation of the pins. The pins need to be rotated to the correct position AND lifted to the correct height for the lock to open to. Here is a picture of a Biaxial key:

See the lines that are horizontal on the key? Those crosscuts control the rotation of the pins.
Maybe this diagram will explain more:

Well n2oah, if you own the medecos in 5 secondz then it must be you breaking into this nutter's living space. Shame on you!

There comes a time in every man's life where he must uncheck the "attach signature" button. And I forgot to. Shame on me.

That really is a funny sig...

Thanks n2oah, I get it--it's just the rotating pins concept, then. I was pretty familiar with that but didn't know it was referred to as biaxial (I had an A in geometry in highschool--I know what an axis is, dammmit!!! :D ).

Oh, and by the way, not all Medeco locks are biaxial. I know that medeco makes some cabinet and cam locks that are just normal pin tumblers.

Look at the diagram, and look closely to the drivers. Drivers 1, 3, & 4 are spools and the sidebar can be a b*tch some times.

Here's an example of a spooled driver.
