if you start at 0000, and work your way to 9999 you will go through every combination possible. Since you own this lock time is no barrier here, so you can spread the work out over an entire day, and save your fingers some pain. Hope this helps.

Actually, you could brute force that lock in under 30 minutes.

I went through every combo in an 4 number combo in 30 mins before, but I was really bored, and my fingers hurt after
is the ring at the base of the shackle to prevent shimming?
because if not then shims would open this lock.

Im not sure how you change the combo on that particular lock but if its a screw or such like down the hole once opened you can open it by shimming it and then just oporate the screw this will either set the combo as it is on the lock at that time, make the wheels loose so you can set the combo, allow you to decode the lock easier.

If I'm not mistaken, that lock's combination is reset thusly... once the lock is open, the shackle is turned to 180 degrees, pushed in, and while holding in this position, the wheels are turned to whatever dial positions you want.

I bought a lock by Viro whilst in Italy, and you had to turn the shackle 90 degrees and press down, whilst the shackle is depressed insert the new combo, when the new combo has been inserted you let the shackle pop up, and turn the shackle to it's normal position, and lock it as normal. Likely this is not unique to all combo padlocks though. I think on some you slide a thin piece of metal behind the dials when the lock is open to change it, but I'm not certain.

You can manipulate that lock in under two minutes.
Basically, db's method in the link is pretty much spot-on (as is the combo change description, with the exception that the shackle is firstly rotated 180 deg and pulled out, the combo is changed, then the shackle is pushed in and rotated back.)
What you will notice with this lock, it that on each wheel, there will be sticking points at 3 numbers, eg 2, 4 & 6. The correct sticking point is the middle number.
If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!

You can't shim these, though.
(By which I mean shimming the shackle, in traditional padlock shim style -- you may be able to stick a flat shim beside the wheels and feel for the cut.)

I bet I could cut the shackle clean off in less than a minute.
