Not sure what that means. Really, a locksmith would be your best bet. If you try to pick the lock, you might luck out in a reasonable time, but it would help you a lot if you went and read the MIT Guide to Lockpicking.

listen man...
whether you are, or are not a thief, you have just managed to reproduce the classic "I want to rob a house" message...
i'm not accusing you of anything, but you might at the very least like to consider giving us some more info about things such as : the Brand of lock, what the key looked like, even where you live will help loads.
My instant advice is to hire a locksmith. Lockpicking will take time, and if it is as important as you hint then they will do it faster than you would likely achieve on your first attempt.
as for what to give me..... I DEMAND... A SHRUBBERY!!!!!!
do this and I'll help

Lol, 1. About my sig, i couldnt think of anything other than the (the same reason you touch your self at night) frase, 2. The door that is locked is the heating room, it's getting really cold here where i live (3. Reilingen, Heidelberg Germany) and i would like to turn the heating on, 4. The lock/key is Abus, The key looked something like the one on the top with the round handle thing, i'll post a better pic of one just like it when i find my digitalcamera... Anything else?

There's a number of holes in the story in my opinion. You are presumably renting. Why can't the landlord fix the heating? Doesn't really make sense.
I have one of those locks myself. Probably a C83 or similar. very common in Germany. I am so-so at picking but it has taken me several weeks to crack that Abus. Much longer than their padlocks for example. Did it last night in fact (bought the lock on summer holiday). You are not likely to solve your 'heating problem' tremendously fast by these illegal means, (even assuming you're also a central heating expert), so I suggest you do this the honest way, whatever that might be in your situation.

I'm guessing the missing word before locksmiths in the orginal post was likely a derogatory one.
Regardless, you should call a locksmith in this case to properly open the lock if necessary. I would suggest also that since the key has been lost, to replace the lock with something more fitting, and make sure to keep a spare key somewhere safe.
You would then be best helped by googling the MIT guide to lock picking, reading it thoroughly, and then purchasing a set of picks and some practice locks. There are various threads, found neatly tucked in the FAQ section that will help with your journey.
*insert witty comment here*

1) The answer to your "heating room" question is Rufen Sie einen Schlosser!!! (Call a locksmith)
2) When I read your sig I thought.... and I came up with "pleasure"

I'd thought the same thing... but some exploration of the original text showed otherwise... thus... I still am not sure exactly what the line meant.
