beginner locks

I am a college student just getting into lock picking. I have read the MIT guide, and have practiced alot on a few padlocks, so that i can get pretty much any standard master lock open in a few seconds. the only thing is that although the padlocks i have are fairly simple to open, i cant quite open up the lock on my dorm room ( its a best, not sure what model)

any suggestions of a good lock to move up to?

Sure, and the Best probably isn't it. Maybe look to a Kwikset, Weiser, Schlage. Any of those in either deadbolt or key-in-knob variety would be a good next step. Then maybe move onto a Sargent or a Yale. Of course, there's hundreds of possible suggestions, but those'll do for now.
