"The Club" help

Postby Duby23 » 28 Nov 2005 19:52

Does anybody have any comments on how safe the club is? I have seen a club picking tool on another website and the video makes is look extremely easy to remove. Any thoughts?

Its very easy with or without the proper tools.

The tools just stop you damageing it or the vehicle if you are doing it legally.

It slows down those "would be" thieves that come unprepared to deal with a "Club".

It does not slow down anyone that knows the handful of ways to remove one and has the basic tools to do so. It is a simply a deterrent to a casual thief and not to a determined thief.

If somebody REALLY wants your car and doesn't want to deal with the club themselves... they'll wait til you climb in and remove the Club and then carjack you. From this perspective... the Club is more dangerous than simply leaving the keys in the ignition.

What exactly do you mean by "safe"?

as hzatorsk touched on, devicessuch as "the club" arent very secure, However, they act as a good deterent to would be car theives. You really dont need a special tool to open a club, and even makeshift picks should work fine.

just remember to treat locks like noses; only pick your own

omg, I pick locks weekly. Everyone seems to always leave their keys in their cars.
PS. of course, after opening the car I go for the glove department and make sure that they even own the car. If not, I call the police.

The club uses disk wafer locks. Those are the easiest kind to pick.

I had a clone to "The Club" Called the "Unbreakable". It had two fingers on each end to secure the wheel so as to not allowing a single cut. It boasted, litterally, a bullet proof design, and freon proof design, and a pick proof dimple lock design. Apparently they did not take a snake rake into their pick proof design as I opened it up in about 30 seconds. 3 sets of pins too. Somehow, I didn't feel endowed. They were also the makers of the Brake lock, which I feel was a very good product, but unfourtantely it had the same dimple lock.

Hahahahaha.... pickproof.... that kills me!

No, I don't mind at all. That thing is easier to pick than a standard club, it bumps open stupidly easy (actually, you can get away with flicking the bump key with your finger), and if you really want to go at it the hard way, it impressions open too.

I wouldn't lock up my outhouse with that lock.

I'm not sure I'd recommend locking the outhouse under any circumstances.

You would be better off beating the car jacker with the club than useing it for auto theft prevention. Some of the cheaper knock offs are harder to pick then the real thing.

I have a friend in LA that keeps "The Club" under his seat just to use as a weapon. It is less obvious than a baseball bat or 3D cell Maglight in you car.
