The name of this forum is “Got Questions?” I have one. Why doesn’t anyone proofread their posts? I’ve been reading a lot since I found this site, and I must say, a lot of these posts are PAINFUL to read. It takes virtually NO extra time to type your post into Microsoft Word first, then copy and paste it into the post box. If some of you don’t have Word, or an equivalent word processing program with spell check, maybe the admins/mods can do something about adding a spell check feature to the forums.

Special attention should also be paid to the green underlining used by Word for GRAMMAR mistakes. Sometimes it incorrectly marks a sentence or phrase, but the majority of the time it catches legitimate mistakes. A post that is well written, both grammatically and with correct spelling, makes for a much more enjoyable read and eliminates the problem of trying to decipher what a person MEANT to say.

P.S. Anyone who speaks English as a second language should ignore the negative connotation of this post and be commended; English has got to be one of the hardest to learn as a second language because of the many irregularities and I applaud your efforts.

Being spelling challenged myself, I highly recommend the Google toolbar (spyware free, available for IE (turns head and spits) and Firefox (you are using Firefox aren't you?!?) since it has a built in spell-checker for online forms (works great in forums like this).

If you are using IE or one of the IE shells (e.g. MAXTHON ) and not the over hyped firefox, you could use IESPELL. http://www.iespell.com/

“Got Questions?” is the name of the forum, but technically, it's referring to locksmithing and lockpicking questions. I do agree with what you're saying, though, but men of handcraft and labor aren't usually men of verbal or written eloquence. Also, east_stingray, remember that it's considered ungrammatical to refer to an indefinite pronoun with a plural pronoun (please refer to the second sentence in your original message).

How about we let people decide for themselves how linguistically correct to keep their posts? If it galls you that much to read, I can only suggest that the problem is with yourself.

I'm dead serious about this. If it bothers you that much to read it, don't read it -- and deal with missing out on what people like raimundo, pinky, and skold have to say. And if you start auditing people's posts, you'd better be certain your own language is picture f*cking perfect. Dig?
